(Red Oak)--There are times in life when we realize it's time to take a leap of faith-time to reach out and try something new. For Stephanie Langner, Montgomery County Extension Program Coordinator, that step meant crossing the border into a new career based in Red Oak.
Stephanie, originally from Fairbury, Nebraska, attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she studied Family Consumer Science Education. She went on to get her Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas.
From there she began her teaching career in Atchison, Kansas where she taught Family Consumer Science for 10 years.
Welcome changes were on the horizon for Stephanie in 2012 as she was married this fall to Brian Langner of Farragut and, looking for a fresh career start, got the opportunity to coordinate Montgomery County Extension in November.
While it's been a pretty steep learning curve, Stephanie says she's embraced the challenge and has really enjoyed her new career. Working with great people and getting the chance to teach and learn from the community in and around Montgomery County has proved especially rewarding.
When not working with people in Montgomery county, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her new husband, reading, traveling and following her favorite sports teams, including her alma mater, Nebraska.
If you'd like to meet Stephanie and find out some of the exciting things that are happening with Montgomery County Extension and Outreach feel free to contact her in Red Oak at 712-623-2592.
