(Shenandoah)--Not too many folks in KMAland get the opportunity to work with their dad everyday and those that do count themselves blessed. We can put Jamie Dinges of Dinges Auto Glass of Shenandoah in that category as he's been working with his dad, Morris, in the family business for the last 20 years.
Originally from the Saint Louis area, Morris moved to Shenandoah to take a job with Dekalb 40-plus years ago and he's been here with his wife, Carol, ever since. Morris and Carol raised 6 boys and are enjoying time spent with their many grandchildren (granddaughter Mara in photo) these days. Jamie and his wife, Angela, live in Shenandoah with Mara and their son, Aiden.
When Dekalb closed their operations in Shenandoah, Morris worked in a few other vocations before getting into the windshield chip repair business in the late 80's. This eventually led to the opportunity to open up his own shop in the early 90's just across the parking lot from the KMA studios on Elm and Lowell where the DX gas station stood for many years.
These days Morris and Jamie repair and replace windshields as well as many other types of vehicle glass. From cars, trucks, semis, tractors, sprayers-you name it- Morris and Jamie have repaired or replaced glass. They also provide other services such as window tinting. Jamie really enjoys working with his dad and he and Morris are thankful for their loyal customers in the area and look forward to serving them in 2013 and beyond.
