(Red Oak)--Members of the Red Oak FFA, under the guidance of Alan Spencer, recently had a great time of fun and learning at the FFA National Convention held in Indianapolis.
Chapter members Mary Kate Bailey and Andrew Palmquist (see photo) were among the many Red Oak FFA students who attended the convention in late October. The two Red Oak juniors were new to the national convention and enjoyed taking in the many sights and sounds of the event that drew a record 56,177 attendees this year!
One of Mary Kate's favorite memories of the convention was listening to world-renown ice skater and cancer survivor, Scott Hamilton, one of the many keynote speakers that brought messages of confidence, leadership and determination to the group of young people.
For Andrew, participating in the NCAA "Hall of Champions" athletic events was a definite highlight.
FFA members also enjoyed the great restaurants, the Indianapolis Zoo and the FFA Career Show.
