Zoo animals at Adams County Fair

(Corning)---We're accustomed to seeing cows, pigs and sheep at the various county fairs in KMAland, but if you were lucky enough to spend some time at the 2012 Adams County Fair in Corning you got to see snakes, bullfrogs, tarantulas and alligators! That's because along with all of the fun festivities that went along with "Kids Day in the Pavilion", Education Specialist Samantha Dunn was on hand showing exotic animals from the Blanc Park Zoo in Des Moines.

Dunn was inundated with enthusiastic young people doing their best to catch a peek at the wonderful creatures on display as a part of "Iowa's Wildest Adventure". Dunn travels across the state doing her best to educate the public on these intriguing, sometimes mysterious creatures, even giving the kids a chance to "pet" them, albeit in a very safe and respectful way.

With all the heat, Dunn was good about giving the animals plenty of cool breaks in their containers while holding and displaying some of the others. The good folks at the Adams County fair contacted Dunn through the zoo and she said it was her pleasure to come to Corning and help entertain and educate the kids.

If you'd like to contact Samantha through the Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines, call 515-974-2559 or go to www.blankparkzoo.com.
