(Anderson) -- Officials with the Midwest Regional Dive Team confirm a body was recovered from a pickup in a farm pond in Fremont County late Tuesday evening.

Dive team members were called to 3201 165th Street north of Anderson shortly after 10 p.m. after a report that a vehicle was found upside down in the pond, and a Sidney firefighter's search for the driver was unsuccessful. Three divers entering the water found the vehicle's windows open, but were unable to find the body. Incident Commander Kenny Hamman of the Midwest Regional Dive Team tells KMA News the body of the driver--a male subject--was recovered after a Benefiel Towing Service wrecker raised the vehicle out of the water.

It's unknown how the vehicle entered the pond, but Hamman estimates the pickup was in the water for at least day. The Fremont County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident, and is expected to release more information later today.
