(KMAland) -- KMA is announcing a year-long project to benefit one local non-profit.
Starting Tuesday, applications are being accepted from non-profits to partner with KMA Broadcasting for assistance with a wide variety of marketing activities. KMA General Sales Manager Sandy Hansen says the project stems from help KMA has offered non-profits in the past.
"At KMA, we are all about and very committed to helping non-profit organizations," said Hansen. "One of the ways we have contributed to helping them in the past is through marketing their events or their cause. We think that is a great way to help them not only go after funding or things like that, but it gives them publicity and draws attention to what they are doing."
Hansen says interested non-profits must fill out an application questionnaire at KMAland.com before May 31st to be eligible for assistance.
"We are going to select one lucky non-profit organization and make them our 'pet project' for the year," said Hansen. "We are going to do advertising, social media, consultation and all kinds of other things to help them for a whole year to get the most out of their event or advance their cause."
In addition to traditional radio advertising, Hansen says the selected non-profit will receive everything the KMA staff has to offer.
"Our whole staff is actually going to work on this project," said Hansen. "We'll look at ways to focus on their organization, what they are about, what we can do to help them, social media help and we'll consult them on how they can buy and use other media outlets too -- not just KMA. We think we can really make a difference for them."
The project is open to all area non-profits or national non-profits with a presence in KMAland. Applications are available at kmaland.com under the community tab.
