(Clarinda) -- Several Southwest Regional Water District customers will be under a boil order beginning Wednesday afternoon.
Officials with the water district announced that work is underway to repair sections of pipe damaged by flooding along the West Tarkio River, east of Shenandoah on Highway 2. Customers in the immediate area of the repairs will experience an interruption of service during work, but they will be contacted directly by the water district.
Following repairs Wednesday at 4 p.m., a large section of water district customers will be placed under a boil order until further notice.
In Page County, all customers in Colfax, Morton and Washington townships -- including Northboro and Blanchard customers located in sections 21, 28, 29 and 30 of Grant Township -- are included in the order. In Fremont County, the order includes all customers in Fisher, Locust Grove, Madison, Prairie and Riverton townships, along with sections 19 and 30 of Walnut Township. And in Atchison County, all rural customers and the community of Westboro are included in the order.
Anyone with questions on the repairs or the boil order area should contact the Southwest Regional Water District office at (800) 579-8068.
