(Tarkio) -- A Jefferson City man was injured in a one-vehicle accident along Highway 59 in Atchison County early Friday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 42-year-old Travis Rudloff of Columbia, Missouri was headed south on Highway 59 -- eight miles north of Tarkio -- around 3:10 a.m. The patrol says Rudloff's vehicle crossed the centerline and traveled off the east side of the highway. His 2016 Chevy Tahoe struck a culvert and a MoDOT road sign. The SUV continued south through the ditch, struck the ground, and eventually came to rest on its wheels.

Travis Rudloff was not hurt. However, a passenger in the vehicle -- 71-year-old Steven Rudloff of Jefferson City -- suffered undisclosed injuries and was transported by Atchison-Holt EMS to Community Hospital Fairfax.

Multiple first responders assisted at the scene.
