(Shenandoah) -- The Midwest Regional Dive team was requested for a water evacuation and rescue west of Shenandoah shortly before noon Friday.
Montgomery County Emergency Management Coordinator Brian Hamman confirms to KMA News that the dive team was called to a residence along Airport Road for evacuation assistance. Once on the scene, Hamman says a boat was launched onto flood waters and made its way to the residence. One person was retrieved from the home, however, two others refused to leave the residence. They were left behind.
No medical treatment was needed for the one individual who was rescued from the residence. Hamman says evacuation orders need to be followed no matter where you're at. He added the flooding in the area is a situation that needs to be taken seriously.
Multiple law enforcement and rescue agencies responded to the scene.
