(Clarinda) --- Charges are pending against a Minneapolis man after another pursuit through KMAland.
Page County Sheriff Lyle Palmer says 39-year-old Leroy Takye Bradley faces charges of speeding, felony eluding, and possession of stolen property. Other charges against Bradley are pending, as the investigation continues.
Palmer says a deputy initiated a traffic stop on Bradley's vehicle at the intersection of U.S. Highway 71 and Upland Avenue, approximately three miles north of Clarinda, shortly before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. During the stop, the vehicle was found to have stolen license plates. A pursuit began on 71 after the vehicle took off while the deputy was confirming information. Bradley's vehicle turned east at the intersection of 71 and Highway 34. The vehicle then turned around, and headed west on 34.
After turning south on Ginkgo Avenue, the driver failed to negotiate a curve, and wrecked the vehicle near Brooks. Bradley was taken by Corning Fire and Rescue to CHI Health Mercy Hospital in Corning, then transferred to Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha with undisclosed injuries.
The Adams and Montgomery County Sheriff's Offices assisted Page County in the pursuit. Corning Fire and Rescue and the Iowa State Patrol assisted at the scene.
