(St. Joseph) -- A late rally for St. Joseph helped them to a 6-2 win over Clarinda on Wednesday evening.

The Mustangs struck first with a run in the opening inning before the A’s (3-8) scored two in the second. It stayed 2-1 until the seventh when St. Joseph rallied for three runs. They added two insurance runs in the eighth for the final margin.

Clarinda had just three hits on the day with Nathaniel Bentura accounting for one of them on an RBI knock. Will Hanafan and Jacob Flores also had one hit each.

Seth Sas threw four innings of five-hit, one-run ball and struck out two batters for the A’s.

Clarinda is back in action at the Nevada Griffons on Thursday at 7:00.

Bentura named MINK League Player of the Week: The MINK League announced the Clarinda A’s Nathaniel Bentura is the league’s Player of the Week on Wednesday. 

Bentura had 14 hits, 12 RBI, three home runs and a .438 batting average for the week to earn the honor.
