(Nevada) -- The Clarinda A’s dropped a wild, high-scoring battle with Nevada on Thursday, losing 16-15 after a four-run ninth for the Griffons.

There were just five half-innings without a run scored throughout the evening with the A’s scoring four each in the second and sixth innings, three in the seventh, two in the ninth and one apiece in the first and fifth.

Nevada, meanwhile, had the four-run ninth, a three-run third and fifth, a two-run first and sixth and one-run seventh and eighth innings.

The two teams combined for the 31 runs, 29 hits, eight errors and 12 walks. Will Hanafan was an offensive leader for the A’s, finishing 4-for-6 with a home run, an RBI and five runs scored. 

Jacob Flores added three hits and three runs, Nathaniel Bentura chipped in two hits and two RBI and Chandler Davis had a pair of hits and scored a run. Nash Adams homered and drove in three, and Andrew Paulsey went deep and drove in two.

The A’s dropped to 3-9 on the season and will be back in action on Saturday at home against the Omaha Bombers. First pitch is slated for 7:00 PM.
