College Softball

(KMAland) -- Northern Iowa and Drake picked up sweeps, Iowa and Creighton nabbed splits, Kansas and Missouri were winners, Iowa State and Omaha both lost and Nebraska got swept in regional college softball action on Saturday.

Iowa State (17-12, 0-2): Iowa State lost a 6-1 decision to Texas. Taylor Nearad and Kaylee Bosworth had two hits each to lead the offense, which finished with five total hits.

Nebraska (10-15, 0-2): Nebraska lost a pair of Big Ten games to Michigan - 8-0 and 7-2 - on Saturday. The Huskers had just one hit in the shutout loss and got a two-run home run from Samantha Owen in the finale.

Creighton (10-10, 1-1): Creighton scored 12 runs in the sixth to take a 14-5 six-inning win over Georgetown before a 6-5 defeat in game two. Kiara Mills homered twice, drove in three runs and scored three times in the win. Kelli Finan had two hits, including a home run, and drove in two in the loss.

Omaha (2-27, 0-3): Janae Cameron hit a three-run home run for Omaha in a 13-3 loss to South Dakota State. 

Iowa (15-11, 1-2): Iowa scored a run in the top of the seventh to take a 2-1 win over Purdue before a 4-2 defeat in the second game of the doubleheader. Aralee Bogar hit the game-winning RBI single in the seventh while DoniRae Mayhew and Abby Lien each drove in a run in the nightcap.

Northern Iowa (13-10, 4-1): Northern Iowa swept Missouri State - 2-0 and 6-3. In the opener, Emma Olejniczak and Erica Oler combined on a nine-strikeout shutout in the opener. Sammey Bunch homered among two hits and drove in two in the finale.

Drake (16-13, 4-1): Drake swept Bradley 6-1 and 7-6 on Saturday. The Bulldogs scored five runs in the seventh to take the opener. Kennedy Frank had a pair of hits and drove in two. The Bulldogs had another late rally in the second game, scoring two each in the sixth and seventh. Sarah Maddox led the 13-hit attack with three safeties.

Kansas (11-20): Sydnee Ramsey hit a two-run walk-off double to lead Kansas in a 5-4 win over Green Bay. Ramsey also homered and drove in three runs.

Missouri (15-12, 4-4): Missouri pounded out 10 hits in an 11-8 win behind home runs from Brooke Wilmes, Geana Torres and Kendyll Bailey.
