(KMAland) -- A former state track champion and star running back at Council Bluffs, Abraham Lincoln has passed away.
Austin Ebertowski, who won the Class 4A state 100 championship and rushed for over 2,000 yards in 2010, unexpectedly died in Reno, Nevada where he was living.
Ebertowski is also well known for his 451-yard rushing game in 2008 against Sioux City East. The single-game total is the fifth-most in Iowa state history.
Ebertowski went on to play football at the University of Northern Iowa and later transferred to Morningside. He was 25.
