(KMAland) -- The first KMA Sports Hall of Fame announcement came back in June, but we revisited it again today.
Shenandoah's Van Brownson - as part of our This is KMAland feature - was announced as the first KMA Sports Hall of Fame member for the 2018-19 class. Here's the full story from June:
Hall of Fame announcement season doesn't officially begin until August, but KMA Sports is out to a fantastic start for the 2018-2019 class.
On Friday's Upon Further Review, former Shenandoah great and 1968 alum Van Brownson joined the program for the latest This is KMAland segment.
In the interview, Derek Martin announced Brownson is the first member of what is the third class of the KMA Sports Hall of Fame.
"I'm very honored to be inducted," Brownson said. "KMA has been a big supporter and strong influence in the community and surrounding areas. It means a lot to me."
Brownson will join Fremont-Mills' Nate Meier and fellow Shenandoah alum Todd Millikan in the football wing of the Hall of Fame. His induction ceremony will be held this fall at a date to be determined.
