(KMAland) -- The Royals and Cardinals were both winners on Tuesday evening in MLB action.
St. Louis (33-32): Dakota Hudson threw seven strong innings, striking out six and allowing just one run on four hits to move to 5-3 on the year. Marcell Ozuna homered among two hits while Yadier Molina, Kolten Wong and Dexter Fowler also had two hits each for the Cardinals, who beat the Marlins 7-1.
Kansas City (21-45): Kansas City rallied for two runs in the eighth inning and won 3-2 over Detroit on Tuesday evening. Jorge Soler doubled in Adalberto Mondesi, and Cheslor Cuthbert drove in the pinch-running Terrance Gore during the rally. Ryan O’Hearn hit a solo home run in the seventh inning to get the Royals on the board. Mondesi finished with three hits while O’Hearn had two behind seven strong innings from Jakob Junis, who struck out five. Scott Barlow (2-2) got the win, and Ian Kennedy struck out two in the ninth for his fifth save.
