(Kansas City) -- The Kansas City Royals have announced the signing of Matt Reynolds to a minor league contract.

The 29-year-old infielder previously appeared in the majors with the Mets and Nationals. He was a second round draft pick by the New York Mets in 2012. Reynolds spent all of 2019 with Triple-A Fresno and hit .295/.401/.521 with 16 home runs in 449 plate appearances.
