(Tabor) -- A four-time state track champion and member of Sidney’s 1984 state team championship was welcomed into the KMA Sports Hall of Fame on Tuesday. Terry Graham was inducted during this year’s Corner Conference meet.
“I was very honored,” said Graham. “It’s quite the honor to be nominated for this award.”
Graham won back-to-back 400 meter hurdle championships in 1983 and 1984.
"My freshman year, I decided to run the hurdles by looking at the record board," Graham said on KMA's Upon Further Review last year. "I picked out an event I felt I could excel at and do well in. (The 400 hurdles) seemed like the easiest race to win, I guess."
Graham was also a member of Sidney’s 4x200 and 4x400 meter relay championships in 1984. The Cowboys won the Class 1A state title that year.
“We all worked together and we all had a common goal to win a state championship,” said Graham. “We set out a year before and we actually accomplished it.”
Graham added, “I really appreciate the efforts of everybody in the community, the coaching staff, and my parents.”
