(Cedar Falls) -- Northern Iowa sophomore Jessica Heims was named the Missouri Valley Conference Co-Female Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.

Heims - a sophomore from Swisher, Iowa - broke the para-athlete F64 classification discus world record with a throw of 105-feet-07 inches (32.19 meters) to take 18th place at the Iowa Msuco Twilight meet in Iowa City.

Heims also finished second in the 100 meter dash (15.30) - the top time in the world this year for the F64 classification.

Heims was named to the US Paralympic field national team and will compete at the Parapan American Games in Lima Peru in August. She is also scheduled to compete at the World Para Athletics Championships in Dubai in November.
