Shenandoah prepares for thousands


Welcome RAGBRAI riders to the City of Shenandoah. Shenandoah is a vibrant, growing and progressive community with much to offer its' residents and visitors alike. 

Shenandoah has numerous parks, an aquatic center, a fitness center, tennis courts, the American legion 18-hole golf course, the Legacy 3 Theater, a complex of baseball / softball fields and 2 tennis complexes. The Wabash Trace Nature Trail also runs through Shenandoah for cycling, hiking, and running. 

Shenandoah offers a wide variety of shopping, restaurants, hotels for residents and visitors. Shoppers enjoy the "Iowa Walk of Fame" while strolling our beautiful main street. Take a break and visit them Veterans Museum, the Everly Brother's Childhood Home, and the Shenandoah Historical Museum where you can relive the early days of Earl May and Henry Field nurseries, KMA and KFNF radio, early music by the Blackwood Brothers, Everly Brothers and numerous other musicians. 

Shenandoah is a great city to raise a family with the community's wholesome setting for children and adults alike. The elementary / middle school, the Turnbull Child Development Center, the beautiful high school, along with their excellent facilities, teachers and administration, provides the finest education for the Shenandoah School District. 

Shenandoah Medical Center / Hospital offers the best physicians with excellent medical care. The Veterans clinic offers excellent veterans care throughout the region.
