(KMAland) -- There have been plenty of great softball pitchers in KMAland history, but when it comes down to it, none of them are as decorated as our latest KMA Sports Hall of Fame inductee.
Treynor's Madison Keysor is a two-time Class 2A state pitcher of the year, a 2012 state champion and a 2013 state runner-up. For all of that, Keysor is the second softball pitcher in our Hall of Fame, joining Fremont-Mills great Mindy Lorimor.
"When we were young," Keysor said on Monday's Upon Further Review, "everybody had to try (pitching) and see who could do it. I ended up kind of liking it, and when I hit fourth grade we decided it was time to take some lessons and get serious about it."
Keysor said she originally "hated" pitching lessons until she found former Glenwood standout and current Treynor softball coach Kara (Stanley) Huisman.
"It wasn't just the physical part," Keysor said of Huisman's teachings. "It was as much mental as physical. She taught me my pitches and proper mechanics, but she was also my mental coach. Just kind of building confidence in myself."
Keysor went on to a Hall of Fame career, striking out 269 batters and posting a 0.62 ERA as a junior before 316 more punch outs and a 0.87 ERA as a senior.
Through all the strikeouts and all the wins, Keysor says the most resounding memory is winning the 2012 state title.
"Definitely that last pitch," she said. "The whole tournament overall was just an experience on its own. We came in as underdogs with nobody expecting a whole lot out of us. We knew our potential, and we knew what we were there for."

A KMA Sports Hall of Fame announcement will be made on Upon Further Review at 11:50 AM each weekday until August 28th.
